New Wine Arrivals
Join us in welcoming the newest members of our Pacific Northwest wine collection, from Sapolil Cellars in the Walla Walla Valley. One of the newest wineries in the area, Sapolil Cellars is named after a Native American who played an integral role in the construction of the first railway to appear in the territory during the 1800's. The winery is run by Bill Schwerin, a third generation farmer turned winemaker, whose wine making style is bold and original, and each bottle is hand labeled and hand dipped in their signature mustard colored wax.
2005 Sapolil Cellars Tre Amici
34% Barbera, 33% Sangiovese, 33%
Nebbiolo Hailing from a single vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley, the "three friends" in this release are the Italian grape varietals Sangiovese, Barbera and Nebbiolo. With a gorgeous blackberry, violet and white pepper spice on the nose, Tre Amici delivers a soft mouth feel, with dark cherries and strawberries lingering on an earthy backdrop, offering a long finish of light chocolate and spice. $27.95
Sapolil Cellars Rawhide Red
50% Merlot, 50% Syrah
This wonderful red table wine fully represents the characteristics of each of the grape varietals used in this blend. The Merlot offers a full roundness of red cherries on the front palate, then flows to a distinctively Syrah finish with juicy overtones of black pepper, leather and plum - perfect for hearty meat sauces, barbeque, or after dinner with dark chocolate. $17.95

New Cheese from Murcia Spain
Caña de Oveja - Spanish Sheep's milk cheese (pasteurized)
This wonderfully smooth, yet crumbly sheep's milk cheese hails from Murcia - an orchard-thickened southeastern region of Spain. Its log shape and texture resembles a French Bucheron, but possesses a buttery, tangy and earthy flavor.
Pairing suggestion: 2005 Martinsancho Rueda - 100% Verdejo
This refined, supple medium-bodied Spanish white wine comes from an organic vineyard. With notes of lemon, honeysuckle, minerals and melons it proves an excellent match for goat and sheep cheese, seafood and vegetarian dishes.
